Pre Production
Mobile phones
we used our mobile phones to take photos and research different films. This allowed us to get and display a better understanding of film techniques.
Computers
Computers played a vital part on the pre production stage. We used our computers throughout for research editing practice shots and looking at previous years examples
Scripts
We created a script with directions on what the cast should do. Instead of using a difficult software that we weren't 100% sure on how to use we stuck with Microsoft word. however we used technology to look at existing scripts to see what ours should look like.
We used email to communicate with our cast members. It was a very useful way to make sure that everyone knew what they were doing and what to wear on the day. We kept our communication with our cast through important decicions.
Applications/ softwares
In our workshops we learnt how to use premiere pro. Other applications that we used were Logic Pro x. I am doing Music Technology a level so I know how to use logic and despite previous uses of premier pro it was nice to familiarise myself with the software in the workshops
Prop research
We researched what props that we may need to use based on existing films. We took inspiration from Final destination and The silence of the lambs. We used Netflix and YouTube to research how to use certain props and how to make fake blood. The original plan was to use fake blood however we realised that it wouldn't be practical to stain a bunch of boarding house equipment red.
